Project and Portfolio II -Graveyard

This is my Project and Portfolio II finished assignment for Full Sail. The video shows a gameplay walk through utilising audio that I designed and implemented through Wwise. Through out the video you can hear ambient sounds of crickets, owls, rolling thunder, and a low rumble. I used westar music for my beginning audio samples and edited them to create the sounds I felt would best fit this game. To add extra low end and fill gaps for the ambient sound I recorded a loop in logic with Xpand 2, and layered with with my ambient track. This adds an eerie effect to the sound and really brings you into the environment. The torch igniting is a layered track of a cutting torch lighting up and a sci-fi based swell. The sound of the character walking was done by layering pre-recorded footsteps with cloth rubbing together, and the sound of a backpack shifting. There are a few moments the trapped souls speak to you, The audio for this was pre-recorded. I duplicated the recording and reversed one track, added a lustrous reverb plate, re-reversed it and layered the two track together. This created a nice effect with what I refer to as a nightmare sound. The orb forwards the beginning of the video has a loop sound effect. For the orb I used a pre-recording of a tortured scream. I time stretch the audio to give it a more demonic sound and looped this.
